My Little Scythe is een competitief, gezinsvriendelijk spel voor 1-6 spelers waarin elke speler 2 dierfiguren bestuurt die een avontuur beleven in het koninkrijk Pomme.

In een poging om als eerste 4 trofeeën te verdienen uit 8 mogelijke categorieën, nemen spelers om de beurt de keuze om te Verplaatsen, Zoeken of Maken. Deze acties stellen spelers in staat om hun vriendschap en taarten te vergroten, hun acties te versterken met behulp van upgrade-tegels, queesten te voltooien, magische spreuken te leren, waardevolle grondstoffen te ontdekken via een innovatief dobbelsteenmechanisme, edelstenen en appels af te leveren bij Kasteel Everfree, en misschien zelfs een taartgevecht aan te gaan.

Sommige mechanismen van My Little Scythe zijn geïnspireerd op het bestverkopende spel Scythe. Het viel in 2017 op bij Stonemaier Games als een door fans gemaakt print-and-play-spel (het won later de BoardGameGeek 2017-prijs voor het beste print-and-play-spel).

Setup takes about ten minutes and the rulebook is surprisingly clear for a competitive game, so we were playing with our 8-year-old within the first evening. The pie-based resource mechanic adds just enough strategy without overwhelming younger players, and the animal minis are charmingly chunky.
