Why switch to natural rubber for Wyrmspan? Some players prefer this neoprene-like material because it's easier to remove cards from them. Each playmat is sold separately so you can buy exactly as many as you need (i.e., if you usually play Wyrmspan with 1 other person, you could buy 2; Wyrmspan plays up to 5 players).
Swapping my old cloth mat for this rubber one made a bigger difference than I expected — cards slide out without that annoying friction. The texture is grippier than neoprene, so pieces stay put mid-game. Just wish it came bundled instead of sold separately.
I was skeptical about spending extra on a mat, but cards genuinely slide off this rubber surface so much easier than my usual table setup. The fact that it's sold individually meant I could grab just one for my most-played spot, and the texture feels sturdy without being sticky.
The rubber surface has just the right amount of grip—cards stay put during a rowdy game but slip off cleanly when I need to pick them up. I like that I could buy just one mat for my side of the table instead of forcing a full set on my group.
