The new capital city mats completely changed how I plan my opening turns, and the revised civilizations feel better balanced than the ones in the base game. My only gripe is that setup takes a bit longer now with all the extra tapestry and tech cards to shuffle in, but it's worth it.

The advancement track with its new tech cards changes the whole pacing of the game — I've played three times already and each run feels completely different.
