I was honestly expecting cardboard-thin pieces, but these zinc coins have a satisfying weight that makes them feel like real currency during gameplay. The color coding across the four denominations is clear enough to grab at a glance, and $1 through $10 covers most buy-in scenarios I’ve run.
The $10 coins are hefty enough that you actually feel the difference when paying for something big. Having 18 singles means nobody's ever short during a trade, which speeds up the whole game. Zinc finish has held up fine after a dozen plays too.
The weight of these in hand makes the cardboard tokens feel like a joke by comparison. I like that the $5 and $10 coins are actually distinct sizes, so sorting out who owes what doesn't turn into a squinting contest. Zinc was a smart call too, they've got a nice heft without being obnoxious.
