The Oceania cards shuffle right into the base deck, so setup barely changes and you still get a fresh batch of birds every game. The new player boards take a round or two to click, but once they do the whole thing feels tighter. Easily my favorite expansion so far.
The nectar and new bird abilities shake up the base game just enough to keep it fresh, and the Oceania cards’ artwork is genuinely stunning once you start drawing them. I played three rounds right after opening the box and the new mechanics slot in without any clunky rulebook diving.
The new bird cards blend so seamlessly with the base deck that my group barely had to adjust our strategies, and the artwork of the Oceania species is genuinely the prettiest in the series so far. The added nectar mechanic has completely changed how I plan my turns, making every round feel fresh.
